They are the shoe trend that is like Marmite you either love it or hate it. Yes, I am talking about the gravity defying Heel-less shoes. They have already been spotted on the catwalk; and now the celebs are rocking the look, we LOVE Jess style above. So could this be the latest style to be seen in on a Saturday night?
I’m not going to lie I was not a fan when they first landed at Barratts HQ a few months ago. However the more I wear them the more I love them. You actually feel very safe, and while it may look like you are balancing on your toes this is not how you feel at all. I love the studded detail of the heel-less court shoes below and have had many compliments, as well as ‘how on earth do you walk in them’ comments about them. So all in all I think that heel-less shoes are a yay from me, however that said I do love marmite!
Here at Barratts we think the Duchess of Cambridge has impeccable taste in shoes; often seen in mid to high court shoes, Kate cannot seem to do wrong. However Nicholas Kirkwood the designer renowned for his wacky creations has criticised the Duchess for not being ‘princessy enough.’
Kirkwoods designs are favoured by the likes of both Beyonce and Sarah Jessica Parker, who certainly know how to pull a good outfit together. However we are not so sure we could imagine the princess going out for a day with the queen in the likes of these gothic inspired black heels.
We would love to see her stepping out in a pair of glass slippers like Cinderella met her prince in. However if that is not practical enough; we think the Duchess and the lovely Roslin, our perfect mid court shoe, are a match made in heaven (and not unlike the shoes she was spotted in above)!
You cannot get away from Jessie J at the moment; not only is she churning out number 1 hits but she is also everyone’s favourite judge on BBC’s The Voice. Jessie is not just showing herself to be influential in music, but also fashion. Spotted in bold prints, skin tight metallic leggings, and fabulous footwear; Jessie is proving herself to be the next big fashion icon!
And guess what Jessie’s favourite footwear is…Creepers! They may have started out as a strange style but creepers are proving themselves as the flats to be seen in this season. We are not saying forget the trusty ballerinas but if you want to keep up with the fashion pack it’s time to invest in some fashionable flats!
We have them available in trusty black.
Or take a walk on the wild side with leopard print creepers.
For those that like a splash of colour.
Champagne has been sipped, fake tan sprayed, and there was no obvious falls; of course we are talking about the end of London Fashion Week 2012 which saw the very best designers give us a preview of their Autumn 12 range. Highlights included Mathew Williamson’s collection which went for a much more ready to wear feel than previous seasons. Although it still had an eccentric edge that we have grown to love from Williamson it was much less effortless in comparison to previous styles. We love these patterned ankle boots that would look great with a simple grey jumper and black skinny jeans, like they say ‘effortless chick.’
Talking of ankle boots it was not just the Mathew Williamson collection which saw the beauty in this autumn wardrobe staple. Erdem Fall showed off some black patterned ankle boots that once again would look great with a simple winter inspired outfit.
There seemed to be a lot of emphasis this fashion week on timeless style, maybe due to the current economy, designers appeared to want to capture shoes that could act as transitional style staples. Sophie Hulme debuted her first handbag range with some great black courts; not too very different from these Lotus Patent courts available for only £30!
So as the majority of us will not be able to invest in the great styles and designs seen in London last week you can all rest a sure that here at Barratts we will bring you a fantastic London inspired range in the Autumn!
